TapBook

Add your booking link to Google

Put your booking page on your Google Business Profile, so customers can book from Search and Maps, and see which bookings came from Google.

Your Google booking link is the address you add to your Google Business Profile, so customers can book from Search and Maps. Add it as the profile's booking link. Bookings from it show as Google in your inbox.

  1. In TapBook, open Google.
  2. On Your Google booking link, find the address. It reads tapbook.au, then your booking page, and ends with ?via=google.
  3. Choose Copy. The button is named Copy your Google link. TapBook says Link copied.

With more than one location, each location is named above its own address. That address is your booking page, then the location, then ?via=google. The button is named Copy the Google link for that location's name.

Only owners can open this page.

Add it on Google

On Add it on Google, follow these steps:

  1. Open your Business Profile: search Google for your business's name, or open it in Google Maps.
  2. On Google Search, choose Booking. In Google Maps, choose Edit profile, then Booking.
  3. Choose Add link, or Add another link if there is one already. Paste your TapBook link and choose Save.
  4. With other booking links there, choose Set preferred link, then your TapBook link, and Save, so it shows first.

Keep your website link as it is: booking is a separate button. Google decides where the button shows, and a change can take a while to appear.

What shows in your inbox

A booking that starts from this link shows as Google. With the detail TapBook keeps, the source reads Google (profile link). The email about that booking says From your Google profile.

The address on Your Google booking link is the one you paste. With one location it is the business booking page with ?via=google on the end. With several, each row is that location's page with ?via=google on the end. Paste the row for the profile you are editing, so customers land on that location.

If the booking button is slow

Google decides where the button shows, and a change can take a while to appear. Leave the website link on the profile as it is. Booking is a separate button, so customers can still open your site while the booking link is catching up.

If other booking links are already there, step 4 is the one that puts TapBook first. Choose Set preferred link, then your TapBook link, and Save.

Things to check

The button opens the website, not booking

The website link and the booking link are different. Keep the website link as it is, and add the TapBook address with Add link or Add another link. Do not replace the website address with the booking link.

Several locations

Each location on Your Google booking link has its own address and its own Copy the Google link for that location. Use the location that matches the Google profile. A second site does not share the first site's link.

Only owners can change the booking page. Staff still see a Google booking in the inbox once a customer sends it.
