Locations
Give each location its own link, address, phone, photo and booking rules, and add another location.
Each location is a place you take bookings. It has its own address, phone, photo, link and booking rules, so a second site can work differently from the first.
Where to find them
- In TapBook, open Settings.
- Under Locations, the line is Where you take bookings. Each has its own address, phone and hours. Each row shows the name, the address and the phone, then Edit. Add location adds another, or open Add a location.
- Edit opens a page headed Edit and the location's name. Add location opens Add a location. Settings goes back. Change what you need, then choose Save location. Cancel leaves it unchanged.
Only owners can change them. Hours for the week, and days you are closed, are under Opening hours and closures, not on this form.
Address, phone and link
Name is what customers see, such as Narre Warren.
Link is the last part of that location's booking page: tapbook.au, your business link, a slash, then this word. Use lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens. A customer who opens that address skips the question that asks which location. See Your booking page.
Street address, Suburb, State, Postcode and Phone follow. State starts on Choose a state, and its help names the time bookings use, such as Bookings use Melbourne time. Phone is the number customers see.
Photo (optional) is shown on the location's card when customers choose a location. Upload image and Remove image work as they do on a service.
If a field is wrong: Enter a name. Enter a link like narre-warren. Another location already uses that link. Enter the street address. Enter the suburb. Choose the state. Enter a 4-digit postcode. Enter a phone number like 0412 345 678 or (03) 5550 1234. Use a JPEG, PNG or WebP image. Use an image under 5 MB.
Notice and confirming
These settings are per location. How they change the times customers see is in When customers can book.
Notice is the soonest a customer can book: None, 1 hr, 2 hr, 4 hr, 1 day or 2 days. See Notice.
How far ahead is the latest they can book: 1 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 months, 3 months or 6 months. See How far ahead.
Start times every is how often a start time is offered: 15 min, 30 min or 1 hr. The service's length and buffer still have to fit. See Start times every.
Confirm bookings straight away is off when a location starts. The line under it reads Off, bookings arrive as requests for you to confirm. On, customers are booked in at once. See Confirm bookings straight away.
On arrival (optional) is shown on customer emails that have a time. One idea per line. Leave it empty if there's nothing to say. A note that is too long says Use 1000 characters or fewer. See On arrival.
Choose Save location. TapBook answers Location saved.
A new location starts with Notice on 2 hr, How far ahead on 2 months, Start times every on 30 min, and Confirm bookings straight away off. It also adds a team member named Team member 1, and no opening hours. The toast is Location added. Set its hours under Booking page, Hours.
Things to check
A new location has no hours
Set the week under Hours. Choose the new location first if Location is on that page. Rename Team member 1 under Team members and bays. Until the hours are saved, customers have no times to pick there.
The link is already taken
Another location already uses that link. Pick another word in Link. It has to look like the example narre-warren: lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens. Then Save location.
Customers aren't asked which location
With one location, the form never asks. A link that already names a location skips the question too. With two or more, tick the service for each place that offers it. See Customers can't see a service. The Photo shows on the card when you have uploaded one.
