Google review requests

Ask customers for a Google review after the job, choose when the request goes, and send one yourself from a booking.

A Google review request asks the customer for a review after the job. It is on Reminders and reviews in Settings, and only while that card is there and review requests are included for your business. One per booking, and never more than one to a customer every 90 days.

Where to find them

  1. In TapBook, open Reminders.
  2. If you don't see Reminders and reviews, email hello@tapbook.au.
  3. Set Google review request, then choose Save reminders and reviews. TapBook says Reminders and reviews saved.

If the card hides Google review request, it says: Google review requests and reminders to finish a booking come with Pro. See plans in Billing opens Billing. The rest of the reminders are in Reminders.

Only owners see the card. SMS and Email start unticked. While no location has a link, both stay off and can't be ticked, and the help reads: Add a Google review link first.

Ask after and wait

Ask after is You mark the job complete, or The booked time ends. For the second, the help reads: For when jobs aren't marked complete. Cancelled bookings and no-shows are never asked.

Wait starts on 2 hours. After you mark the job complete, the choices are No wait, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and 1 day. After the booked time ends, No wait is left out, so a no-show can be marked first. No wait still holds the request 30 seconds, so Undo on Mark complete stops it.

Email sends How did we go, then their name. The heading is How did we go?, and the button is Leave a Google review. Under it: Don't want these? Stop review requests. What the email says is in What customers receive.

SMS sits beside Email. It uses the same wait, and the text ends with Reply STOP to opt out. See Your TapBook number and texts.

Google review link is one field, or Google review link for the location's name when you have several.

With a linked Google listing, the help reads: Leave it empty to use the listing's review page on Google. Without one: On your Google Business Profile, choose Ask for reviews, then copy the link and paste it here.

While a link is in use, Open shows the page customers get. A link that is not Google's asks you to paste the review link from your Google Business Profile, like g.page/r/…/review.

Under the fields: One per booking, and never more than one to a customer every 90 days. A customer who asks not to get them never does again.

Send one yourself

On a completed booking, Send review link asks straight away, by email, and by SMS when a text can go. It shows when reminders are on, review requests are included, the location has a link, the customer hasn't turned them off, none has gone for this booking, and an email or SMS can reach them.

TapBook says Review link sent. During quiet hours it says Review link goes at that time, and the booking says the same until it goes. Pressed first, this one goes, and the automatic request for that booking does not.

When a customer asks you to stop

On their page in Customers, Review requests and follow-ups is on to start, while reminders are on for the business. The help reads: Google review requests, and the reminder when a booking isn't finished. Turn it off if they ask not to get them. Replying STOP turns it off too.

Off, TapBook says they won't get review requests or follow-ups. On again, it says they can get review requests and follow-ups again. Turning it back on does not turn SMS back on.
