TapBook

simPRO

Turn each TapBook booking into a simPRO service job, kept up to date when the booking moves or is cancelled.

Each new booking becomes a job in simPRO, with its customer, so you never type it in twice. The card is on Settings while simPRO is on for your business. Only owners can connect it. If simPRO is missing, email hello@tapbook.au.

Your simPRO address

Open Settings. The card is simPRO. Before it is connected, you enter the address, then connect. TapBook does not ask you to pick a staff member. There is no New jobs go to on this card.

The card says TapBook finds each customer in your simPRO customers by email or mobile, or adds them, then adds the job at its site. A booking is due at its time. A quote, call-back or enquiry has no due date. When a booking moves or is cancelled, its job follows. Nothing else in simPRO changes.

  1. Your simPRO address is the address you log in to simPRO at. The help says it looks like jaxplumbing.simprosuite.com.
  2. Choose Connect simPRO. That simPRO's log-in page opens in the same tab.
  3. Log in and let TapBook in. You come back to this card.

Left empty, the field says: Enter your simPRO address, like jaxplumbing.simprosuite.com. Anything that is not a simPRO address says: That isn't a simPRO address. It looks like jaxplumbing.simprosuite.com. An address with or without https:// is accepted when it is a simPRO address, on simprosuite.com or simprocloud.com.

The toast says simPRO connected. New bookings go there from now on. If you cancel on simPRO's page, it says simPRO wasn't connected. Anything else says We couldn't connect simPRO. Try again in a minute.

Bookings made before you connect stay in TapBook.

Once it is connected

The card says Connected to the simPRO company's name, with a Connected chip, then the address you connected. New bookings become jobs in simPRO, due at their time, and their time and cancel follow the booking. Everything else about a job is yours to change in simPRO.

If it needs connecting again, the company is shown with a Needs connecting chip and the reason, then: Connect again to carry on. Bookings made or changed in the meantime go across when you do. Connect again goes back to the same simPRO address. It does not ask for the address again.

Disconnect asks Disconnect simPRO? New bookings stop going to simPRO. The customers and jobs already there stay as they are. Keep it closes the question. Disconnect disconnects it. The toast says simPRO disconnected.

If simPRO isn't ready on TapBook yet, the card says so, and there is no address field and no connect button.

Moves and cancels

A booking or a request that arrives while simPRO is connected, or one your team adds, becomes a service job due at the booking's time. The customer is found by email, then by mobile, or added. The site is the address the form asked for, or the customer's first site, or a new one. A quote, call-back or enquiry becomes a service job with no due date.

Moving the booking, from the booking page or by dragging it on the calendar, moves the job's due date and time. Booking a quote or call-back in makes the job due at that time. Cancelling the booking follows on the job, 10 seconds later, so Undo can stop it. Confirming a booking, sending a quote, completing it, or marking a no-show changes nothing in simPRO.

After the first send, TapBook only changes the job's due date and time, and only archives or restores it while its stage is still the one TapBook gave it. A job someone has started, completed or invoiced in simPRO stays as it is.

The log

Sent to simPRO lists every job TapBook sent, or tried to. With nothing in it, it says: Nothing sent yet. New bookings go across as they're made.

The columns are When, Booking, Change and Status. Booking opens the booking. Status is Waiting, Sending, Sent, Trying again, Not sent, Skipped or Sent with a later change. Not sent has Retry, which sends the booking as it is now. The toast says Sending it again. Show more loads the next rows.

Skipped is a job TapBook left alone. The line under the chip is the reason:

  • simPRO was disconnected.
  • simPRO needs connecting again.
  • The cancel was undone.
  • It was cancelled before it went to simPRO.
  • The job was deleted in simPRO.
  • The job was changed in simPRO, so TapBook left it.

A cancel waits 10 seconds before it is sent, so Undo on the booking can stop it. In that time the job never hears of the cancel. A cancelled booking's job is archived. Undoing the cancel puts the job back, pending, due at its time, while its stage is still the one TapBook gave it.

Things to check

The address has to be the one you log in at. Enter your simPRO address, like jaxplumbing.simprosuite.com. is the empty field. That isn't a simPRO address. It looks like jaxplumbing.simprosuite.com. is anything else. You can paste it with or without https://.

If Connect again is showing, new bookings wait until you connect. Bookings made or changed in the meantime go across when you do. If the card says simPRO isn't ready on TapBook yet., email hello@tapbook.au.
